John and Ellen Young

John and Ellen Young, Owners of Rockland Farm have been married for 29 years. Born and raised in Colchester, CT John and and Ellen have always been passionate about farming and raising horses. Ellen grew up riding her family owned horses. She now spends her time taking care of learning/physically disabled clients at a group home she started in town called New Beginnings For Life, LLC. John started working at the original Rockland Farm built in 1967 as the first caged chicken coop in the state. John retired after 35 years as a manager of three egg laying complexes housing over 3.5 million laying hens and three pullet complexes with over 1.5 million birds. John and Ellen loved the idea of naming their horse farm after the oringal farm and their dreams of having a state of the art equine facility with the highest quality of care for their horses has come true!
